Dear Senators and Congressmen of the United States of America,
Your president Ronald Reagan once said about one of the dictators, “Yes, he is certainly a son of a bitch, but he is OUR son of a bitch.” He violated the commitment to support only the true liberals and democrats. Today this violation has become the rule. America supports all kinds of “sons of bitches” all over the world, only because they are “our sons of bitches.” Various thieves, murderers, fascists and terrorists have learned that it is enough to show their sympathy for America to receive America’s support, and have America put pressure on those who are after those criminals.
You are putting pressure on the Russian authorities and adopting anti-Russian resolutions only because the Russian authorities are after Basaev, Khodorkovski and Beresovski, and do not agree with Saakashvilly, Yushenko and Vicke-Freiberga.
You should take into consideration that whenever you pressure the Russian authorities, the popularity of America declines in Russia. Ten years ago 70% of Russian people thought of America well, now only 15% do so! Why is America becoming less popular? It is because Basaev has murdered hundreds of peaceful citizens and children in Russia, but the USA supports this “son of a bitch”, because he is “their son of a bitch.” The US government also provides a political asylum and money coming from the American tax-payers to his emissary Akhmadov.
The thieves Beresovski and Hodorkovskij are being called liberals in the USA, and as a result millions of Russian liberals find themselves betrayed. “If Beresovski is a liberal and a democrat, then we refuse to be called liberals and democrats,” they say, and then they refuse to vote for the liberal and democratic parties, which gain less than 5% of votes during elections.
You, Americans, support Latvian president Vicke-Freiberga. Do millions of American Jews know that veterans of the SS regiments have been parading on the streets of Riga, and have been supported by the Latvian authorities? Do you know that 30% of Latvian population is not able to teach their children their native language (Russian)? Do you know that fascist regime is functioning in Latvia, the regime of apartheid? Do you call this democracy? There was no vote in Congress to make Latvia grant the Russian language (spoken by 30% of the population) the official status and to give citizenship to Latvian Russians. Instead you demand that Russia should apologize to Latvia for obviously obscure reasons…
People of Russia have developed a very simple point of view, “If America supports those bastards, then we are against America!”
How could America have turned into a country that fights against nations and governments to defend the scum only because that scum pretends to be loyal to America?
Have some dignity! Do not let the scum defend itself with the name of America. Do not let the criminals do lawless deeds under your protection!
Carefully select those whom to support!
Do not discredit your favorite ideas of liberalism and democracy before the people of the world. Because of you, the words “liberalism” and “democracy” became synonymous with “theft” and “disorder” for millions of people.
When millions of Russian people see terrorists killing hundreds of children, and then learn that American TV channels have called these killers “rebels”, and not terrorists, they think that the USA are helpers of those assassins. Are you proud of that? A terrorist killing children, is still a terrorist, even if he shouts about his love to the USA. Instead of helping him, you should be the first ones to make him shut up and stop discrediting your country.
Think about it! What goes around comes around! When the entire world starts hating you, it will be too late.
Not long ago you voted for providing tens of millions of dollars for development of democracy in Russia. Whom will you entrust this money to? It will probably be the people who do nothing but shout everywhere about their love to the USA. Is this enough to earn your trust? Maybe you will be interested to know, that all those people have the reputation of liars and thieves! During the Soviet times some considered these dissidents to be heroes and fighters for freedom, but over the last 20 years everyone has seen that they were just corrupt demagogues, who are ready to praise anyone who sponsors them. Many of them were engaged in theft during the period of “privatization”… These people are being laughed at and despised. Your money will simply be stolen by them, and the effect of the investment into democracy will be the opposite of what you have expected!
If you want America to be popular once again, you should stop supporting thieves and our enemies. If you want to help us, you should be supporting the victims of terrorism in Beslan and the relatives of the ones killed on Dubrovka, and sponsor the organizations fighting for the rights of Russian people in the Baltic countries. And please, stop telling us how to live! Our relationship must be based on mutual trust! Believe that we know better how to build democracy in Russia without you constantly interfering with your “advices.”
Your wealth and false statements will not be able to make Russian people consider a killer and a terrorist Basaev to be “the fighter for freedom”, a thief Beresovski to be “the chief democrat”, and a fascist president of Latvia to be “the civilized statesperson”.
And most importantly, live the way you lived before, without interfering with other nations’ affairs.
